Since 1993, Rose of Lima House has been providing homeless women with up to two years of structured community-based living that includes life skills training, community building activities, case management, and mental health therapy. This program was started as a direct response to Seattle's growing ranks of homeless women who lack the support needed to break the cycle of homelessness.
Our combined approach of emergency shelter with the option of transitional housing has had tremendous success. To date, more than 70% of the homeless women who have come through this combined program have achieved their goal of finding and maintaining permanent housing.
Drawing from their own strength and dreams, residents set out to transform their lives. Support is provided through life skills classes and counselors who help them identify and achieve their goals.
